How to Level Up Your “Hot Girl Summer”☀️

I was sooo hot in Colombia…but maybe not in the way most might think. 😁

We’ve all heard of Hot Girl Summer.

She’s cute. She’s confident. She’s rocking the crop tops, the iced matcha, the shades, and the IG angles.

Confidence? I’m here for it. 

But let’s be honest: the whole “Hot Girl” thing? It’s kind of selling us a sliver of what it really means to live fully, freely, and vibrantly.😉

Enter: Holistic Girl Summer (yes, I’m Holistic Hilda, so I may be a bit biased😀). 🧡 I see it as an upgrade. Let’s take it beyond the poolside pics. The Holistic Girl Summer is about turning up the heat– not just to look hot, but to GLOW from the inside out.

Here’s what we’re doing for a HOLISTIC girl summer!☀️

🍓Eating with the season – Fresh berries, cucumbers, tomatoes, and watermelon. Fresh dairy, chicken, and eggs grazed on rapidly growing green pastures.

☀️Getting sun on the skin – Rising with the sun and getting those first rays of sunshine on your face (sunrise before screenrise!), and winding down with the sunset.

👀Wearing blue blockers instead of sunglasses – Wearing sunglasses blocks essential light information from getting to your brain and can impact how you adapt to the summer sun! I avoid wearing sunglasses, and opt for my blue blockers in the evening instead, to keep my circadian rhythm in tune with the sun instead of artificial light.

👣 Walking barefoot on the earth – Whether on the beach, in your backyard, or a park. The earth’s energy is invigorating and stress-lowering.

🥩Nourishing the body – with real food! The kind your great-grandmother would recognize. Think nose to tail animal foods, fermented veggies, bone broth, and eggs with yolks the color of sunshine.

💦Staying hydrated – With structured water, electrolytes, seasonal fruit.

🧵Wearing natural fibers – Ditch the polyester and go for a linen sundress. Linen, cotton, silk and wool let your skin breathe; while polyester clothing may impair hormonal function.

🫶Connecting deeply – Because being “too hot for anyone” is out. Being real, rooted, and relational is in. Love your people!

🥵 Being hot – Wait, what?! I’m talking about literally being hot! It happens naturally in the summer, and it actually has health benefits.  Sweating helps your body release toxins, supports lymphatic flow, and even boosts your mood. So the next time you’re glistening on a hike or in your garden? Just smile and enjoy your sauna and light therapy!

Modern wellness trends love to slap a label on everything. But the truth is, our ancestors were living this way all along. Maybe we can make Holistic Girl Summer a trend and bring it back! What do you think? Are you in??? 😊
